THEOLOGY COURSE CODING
AND EXPLANATION
Each of those streams of courses are coded
with numbers 1 – 5 in the following manner:
1
= Foundation studies courses
2
= Biblical studies courses (includes Languages)
3
= Pastoral studies courses
4
= Theological studies courses (includes History)
5
= Elective studies courses
Under each stream, individual courses are
sequentially and coded by numbers again. The letter coding denotes the school
name in the University; the digit before the dash represents the course stream;
the first digit after the dash represents the year level; the second digit
after dash represents semester in the academic year and the last two digits
after dash denote the sequence of the course in each stream.
For example in THE1-1101;
THE = Course
from School of Theology
1 before
dash = Course from Foundation studies stream
1 first
after dash = Level 1 course
1 second after
dash = Course runs in semester 1
01 last two
digits after dash = sequence – the first course in foundation stream.
Therefore this is the first
foundation
studies course offered to level one students in semester one from the School of
Theology
